Jana Kühnel
Jana Kühnel joined Goethe University Frankfurt as Full Professor for Work and Organizational Psychology in 2023. After having obtained her Ph.D. in Psychology (Dr. rer. nat.) at the University of Konstanz (Germany), she worked as a Strategy Consultant at the Boston Consulting Group and as a Business Development Agent before continuing her academic career at the Universities of Ulm and Mannheim. Before joining Goethe University Frankfurt, Jana was Professor of Psychology with a Focus on Changes in Work, Society and Economy at the University of Vienna, Austria.
Jana’s overarching research goal is to understand how people can show high performance and stay well and healthy in the changing world of work. Her research focuses on the importance of sleep and chronotype for work, on recovery from work-related stress, and on creativity and innovation.
Her research has been published in leading management and psychology journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Business and Psychology, Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology as well as in practitioner-oriented outlets. She is Co-Editor of the German Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology and is serving as an editorial board member of the Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, and European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology.
