Johannes zu Eltz, since August 2010 has been dean of Frankfurt am Main and responsible for up to 150,000 Catholics, prior to this he studied Law in Mainz where he also did his PhD. He has also studied philosophy and theology at the Church-College “St. Georgen” in Frankfurt am Main and Sant´ Anselmo in Rome. He was ordained as a priest in 1991. From 1999 to 2010 he was Head of the ecclesiastical court and for four years dean of Wiesbaden.
