    Stephan Reimelt has managed business for General Electric (GE) across Europe since January 2015 and is responsible for their German business. Prior to this Reimelt was responsible for GE’s energy portfolio in Germany. Before starting at GE in September 2011, Reimelt had worked among others as a board member for the large German industrial enterprises Lurgi AG and Ferrostaal AG as well as for his own company Reimelt Corporation in North America and Germany. Reimelt did his PhD in industrial engineering at the technical university in Berlin where he has been working as a lecturer since 2001. General Electric was founded in 1890 by Thomas Alva Edison and has approximately 300,000 employees, it is one of the largest technology enterprises worldwide. In 1896 GE was one out of the twelve enterprises forming the Dow Jones Index, which was introduced at that time and it is the only enterprise still part of it today. Under the leadership of Stephan Reimelt, in Germany GE has 50 locations, employing 7,000 people. Stephan Reimelt talks about what constitutes leadership for him, his definition of good leadership and his personal leadership style. He talks about GE’s organizational culture, continuity, change and values, starting with Thomas Edison, Jack Welch and ending with today’s CEO Jeff Immelt.
