Talent and Career Management
Organizations on the labor market compete for the most talented employees and competition is increasing. But how do organizations manage to contract the most talented employees and keep them? How well-informed are organizations about their employees’ talents? Talented employees usually know about their value; therefore, it is important in sustainable talent management to respond to the employees’ needs. Financial incentives and securities, as well as possibilities to yield and implement own ideas, are essential for employees. Our research results show, that organizations will have to deal with changing market conditions in the “War for Talent” but can use them for their own advantage. Particularly we show that large organizations have a competitive disadvantage compared to small and dynamic organizations, because they cannot implement their employees’ ideas due to a lack of flexibility. This applies especially for very motivated and creative employees.
